Within the RD&T structure of the company, there is a dynamic group devoted to noise and vibration. In terms of SoundPLAN, this groups' work includes assistance with site applications for IPPC, Environmental Impact Assessments and noise control. The group offers its expertise both within and external to the company.

DeltaRail 

DeltaRail (formerly AEA Technology) is a major science and engineering consultancy, with a focus on Environment and Transport, particularly Rail. The Rail Group has an Acoustics Team in both the UK and the Netherlands. Both Teams are actively involved with their respective governments and railway administrations in addressing the requirements of the European Noise Directive, and the associated EC Harmonoise project is coordinated from our Utrecht office. As well as noise mapping and related data management, AEA Technology offers: noise and vibration measurement using state-of-the-art systems; modelling for optimisation and mitigation with such techniques as Statistical Energy Analysis and Finite Element/Boundary Element analysis; health and safety assessment of noise and vibration environments and advice on control; assessment and specification of audible warnings; support to the process of legislation and standardisation.
